Wind Development Manager

Our client is one of Europe’s most successful wind energy developers. With over 150 staff in Germany, Spain, France, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Ireland and Great Britain we have planned and constructed some 360 MW of rated capacity in Europe. They are based in Scotland and is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our UK based wind development business.

Primary objectives
Reporting to senior staff in Germany, the successful candidate will manage part of the company’s wind farm project portfolio in Scotland and northern England, from initial site selection through the EIA process to post planning requirements.

Responsibilities
• Site search and site feasibility assessment
• Land lease negotiation and liaison with land owners, agents and solicitors
• Managing the EIA process and submission of planning applications
• Engaging and managing consultants and review of expert studies and impact assessments
• Delivering projects on time and within budget
• Planning projects and strategies in close cooperation with staff in Germany
• Input into the site design process and liaison with the technical team
• Consultation with local councils and statutory bodies
• Liaison with local communities and consulters
• Public relations including wind farm public exhibitions

Skills
• Academic degree preferably in natural science or in an engineering discipline
• Several years experience in wind farm planning and development
• Project management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Experienced in office software
